Best places to visit in Peru

  • Cusco: The city of Cusco is located within the Peruvian Andes. Famous for its archaeological sites and colonial Spanish architecture, this city has a character all its own. While in town, check out the Incan ruins of Qorichanka.
  • Machu Picchu: This is perhaps the most famous landmark in Peru. Located within the Cusco region, this is one of the wonders of the world. These world-famous mountaintop ruins should be on everyone’s bucket list.
  • Lake Titicaca: This massive lake between Bolivia and Peru is home to many more Incan ruins. It’s also surrounded by the Titicaca National Reserve, home to many native wildlife species. If you’re looking to explore nature, this is the place to visit with your car rental in Peru.

Winter in Peru

Winter only gets a bit colder in Peru, especially in the northern part of the country. This is the perfect time to explore the cities of Lima and Cusco and really experience the local culture. You may also want to visit Arequipa, also known as the White City, because of its unique architecture. And of course, Machu Picchu is incredible at any time of year. Even if the weather might not be as good during the winter, this is low season, so it should be less crowded.

Organization at the location is a bit frustrating; it took a couple hours to get our car and it wasn't the exact model we requested. That said, Albaro was very friendly and accommodating. I will return next time I'm in Lima because of his excellent customer service.

Good company to deal with, spoke English and new ish cars with some existing minor damage, driving in Lima will do that😉 Take some video of the car when you pick it up. Driving in Lima and Peru is not easy you will need some experience in following the local laws, Drive with lights on all the time especially and stick to the speed limit most of the time. The money hungry police await your arrival in your clearly tourists vehicle, in 5 days was pulled over 4 times and had to pay police twice = 800 soles
