Office easy to find right outside the main ferry terminal. Just one minute walk.
Dario (office staff) was very helpful, polite and quick.
I would use Sixt again when I’m here and highly recommend for travelers from USA
I reserved online and prepaid.
They took a small deposit for security / protection.
UPDATE: Return was just as easy. Fast efficient. 1) there’s a gas station right next to Sixt office. Easy fill up
2) if you drove to Montevideo, on the toll road (which I recommend as the road was great), you will pay your tolls at the Sixt desk at check in. Easy.
3) Our 7 seater SUV was excellent. Great condition. Clean. The Sixt cars seemed newer / cleaner / better than the other rental offices around
4) Return Agent at the desk was pleasant and respectful. Excellent English. Both at checkout and checkin

The Sixt rental car branch in Colonia is a hidden gem. In brief walking distance from Buquebus, it has so often been my first access point during my trips in Uruguay. Great reliable cars, super friendly service by Gonzalo, and a lot of flexibility in all contract matters make this branch stand out.
As long as Gonzalo and Dario run the show, I do not see a reason to change my loyalty!
